A Contemporary Cotswolds Barn Wedding

  • Robyn, an Events Manager, and Damian, who's a Heating and Plumbing Engineer, celebrated their marriage on the 2 August 2019 at, Upper Windrush, Cheltenham. This beautiful, traditional Cotswold barn is a component of the Cripps & Co. portfolio of lovely venues.

The flower girls wore cheap flower girl dresses, whilst the page boys dungarees, along with a linen shirt and shorts.

In keeping using the couple's fresh and modern color pattern of greens and whites, Robyn's spectacular bouquet was full of beautiful roses, scented stocks, Veronica, and a lot of lush greenery. The bridesmaids each carried a floral hoop over their arm.

"I wanted a relaxed vibe, so I didn't want my bridesmaids to stay in anything too formal, coupled with an idea of what I wanted however it took me ages to locate anything. In the end, my mum found our gorgeous jumpsuits in, and I loved the color and how comfortable they looked. I had all of them fitted for every bridesmaid so that they could put them on as they felt best."

Damian, his Best Man, Usher, and also the Father from the Bride wore suits, with Damian choosing a blue suit with a matching tie, along with a contrasting brown tweed waistcoat.

"We first met when I was in primary school, although we didn't attend the same school, both of us went towards the same school events and parties as I knew Damian's cousin, Jed."

"We then met again in secondary school, where we began dating at 14, and also have been together since. The year we got married, we'd been together for 16 years." Go

"I have been away with an international event for some weeks, and thus when I returned Damian required away for that weekend to one in our favorite places and somewhere we'd been for a long time whilst becoming an adult, Coniston within the Lake District."

"It would be a lovely chilled weekend, and around the day he proposed we went back to some campsite we accustomed to visiting through the years, and far to my surprise he got recorded on one knee whilst I was sitting around the pier – it had been perfect."

Robyn's dress is a skirt and top in matching fabric. The top has beautiful, long tapered bell sleeves, and a stylish bateau neckline, along with a plunging low v-back, whilst the skirt includes a gorgeous subtle fishtail shape having a row of pretty buttons.

"I've always loved the minimalist style, but it had been the venue that gave the direction around the look and feels, since it didn't need any dressing, it had been already so beautiful. We added some personal touches, and used lots of greenery and white flowers to enhance the tones from the venue."

"We had the most wonderful 9-piece band for that evening called. Hands-on the best wedding ring we've heard, and we've even had friends re-book them for his or her wedding having seen them at ours! They sang our first song beautifully."

    Words of Wedded Wisdom

"You don't need to do it all yourself – let people help! I wasn't great only at that, and I wished I have been, because I had friends and family who might have enjoyed being more involved, also it would have taken the pressure off. Take a moment around the day, without photographers, etc, to simply be on your own with your new husband/wife and take everything in. Enjoy it."
