A Modern Multicultural Wedding in London

  • Meet Aliyah and Zayd, who have been married around the 20 July 2018 inside a civil ceremony in the elegant in north London then a reception at, an old stable turned 1920's metal works, and today a vibrant event space.

    "We knew we desired to have our ceremony at Islington Town Hall as we'd seen a lot of happy couples having their confetti moment around the steps and that we just loved the place, though we hadn’t been inside until our special day!"

    Aliyah wore an amazing long-sleeved mermaid wedding dress with a tulle overskirt from the designer, which she chose at in London.

    "I didn't come up with an exact image in my head of the items I wanted, so I wasn't so sure how to start. It's also quite difficult to find modest dresses that aren't too mature for my taste or simply plain frumpy, so I went in it thinking that I might need to design my very own."

    "The detail only agreed to be stunning, and I felt enjoy it had a classy and timeless turn to it. It was the only real dress that helped me feel like a bride, instead of feeling like I was playing dress-up like a bride."

    Aliyah also wore a hijab, which she paired having a full-length tulle veil On her feet she wore a set of patent gold block heels, as well as for jewelry she wore a set of earrings provided to her by her grandmother.

    Aliyah and Zayd first met at a party at the age of 18, with Zayd meeting Aliyah's mum around the very same day. They were together for three years before becoming engaged, and also the story of Zayd's proposal to Aliyah is a brilliant one!

    "I walked on the aisle towards the Twenty One Pilots' version of I Can't Help Falling In Love With You. It's a song which means a lot to us, and I was around the verge of tears the moment I stepped into the area."

    Aliyah and Zayd chose photographer Rachel, to capture their day, in which images are sensitively done having a creative elegance and flair.

    "We love our photos, and we love Rachel! She was able to capture the emotion in our day so well and caught each one of these little moments that people probably would have ignored otherwise. Her eye is fantastic, and also the photos are stunning without anything needing to be overly staged, which is precisely what we wanted. Rachel truly is a dream!"
